Tip #4

Most of women I know try to loose weight. All kinds of women: obese, overweight, those who have perfect weight, and anorectic. For all these ladies I recommend a pedometer. According to wikipedia a pedometer is a device, usually portable and electronic or electromechanical, that counts each step a person takes by detecting the motion of the person's hips. Because the distance of each person's step varies, an informal calibration, performed by the user, is required if presentation of the distance covered in a unit of length (such as in kilometers or miles) is desired. 
I recently purchased a pedometer and I love it. It is a great motivation tool for me. The average person makes about 6000 steps a day. If you want to increase your physical activity or loose weight you should make 10000 steps a day. Living in United Stated I found it very difficult to make 6000 a day with "normal" activities: eg. cleaning a house, doing laundry, chasing kids, doing grocery shopping etc. I challenge myself every day to complete 10000 steps. This requires walking extra miles. Having this pedometer on my belt keeps me really motivated. Just keep in mind that if you are planning on running you have to recalibrate your pedometer as the length of your step will be different compered to "the walking step".
